The internal scraper self-cleaning filter is a fully automatic, inline filtration system designed for continuous industrial processes. It uses a built-in rotating scraper to automatically remove particles, contaminants, and deposits accumulated on the inner surface of the filter element. Compared with conventional bag filters and basket filters, it significantly reduces the need for frequent filter disassembly, manual cleaning, and filter replacement. It is particularly suitable for high-viscosity liquids, liquids with high contaminant loads, and media prone to clogging.
Description
- The scraper-type self-cleaning filter uses a pneumatic cylinder or geared motor to drive the scraper, removing impurities accumulated on the filter element. It provides continuous online filtration without disposable filter media and eliminates the need for manual cleaning.
- The liquid enters the filter housing through the inlet. An advanced PLC control system automatically initiates the cleaning and discharge processes according to differential pressure and preset time intervals, providing a high degree of automation.
- The scraper-type self-cleaning filter is particularly suitable for applications where the liquid contains a relatively low concentration of contaminants but is prone to fouling and clogging, or where long-term unattended filtration is required.
- During filtration, impurities retained by the filter screen are automatically removed by the scraper and deposited into the collection chamber. The system supports both automatic and manual discharge. Filter ratings from 20 μm to 1,000 μm are available to meet different filtration requirements.
Working Principle
- Filtration
The liquid to be filtered enters the filter through the inlet. During filtration, impurities in the liquid gradually accumulate on the stainless-steel filter screen. As the contaminants build up on the inner surface, a pressure differential develops between the inlet and outlet. A differential pressure switch monitors changes in the pressure difference.
- Cleaning
When the differential pressure reaches the preset value, the automatic cleaning cycle is initiated. The electrical control system sends a signal to the pneumatic cylinder or motor, which drives the scraper to move up and down or rotate, removing accumulated impurities from the filter screen.
- Discharge
After a preset period, the discharge valve opens and the collected impurities are discharged from the system. The discharge duration can be adjusted according to the water quality and the value of the filtered liquid.
Applications
Especially suitable for filtering viscous materials such as:
- Oils and fats
- Coatings
- Resins
- Fermentation liquids
- Adhesives
- Pre-treatment before membrane filtration
- Other viscous and contaminated liquids
