Aramid Needle-Punched Felt Filter Bags for Dust Collection
It supports a continuous operating temperature of up to 204°C, with the ability to withstand momentary (or short-term) temperatures of 240°C or even 250°C. This heat resistance makes it highly suitable for filtering various high-temperature flue gases.
Decomposition and carbonization begin only at 400°C; it has a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of 28–30. It does not spontaneously ignite or support combustion in air, nor does it melt or drip like certain other synthetic fibers.
At a high temperature of 230°C, the thermal shrinkage rate is only about 1%, effectively preventing equipment malfunctions caused by significant shrinkage of the filter bags.
It demonstrates strong resistance to both acidic gases and alkaline dust, making it suitable for flue gas environments containing complex chemical components such as sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides.
It offers excellent abrasion and tensile resistance, enabling it to withstand the repeated impacts of pulse-jet cleaning, thereby extending its service life.
Description

Filmedia® is a professional manufacturer of dust collection filter bags. We supply diversified material filter bags with customized sizes and surface treatments, serving industrial dust removal systems across global industries with reliable quality and full technical support.
Base Fabric Material – Aramid (Nomex or Conex) Needle Felt
The core filtration material of the aramid filter bag is aramid needle felt, produced from high-quality Aramid 1313 (meta-aramid) fibers using an advanced needle-punching process to create a three-dimensional non-woven structure. This material features uniform pore distribution, high porosity, and excellent air permeability, enabling it to effectively capture fine dust particles while maintaining low operating resistance. Compared to conventional polyester and acrylic needle felts, aramid needle felt offers superior filtration performance, dimensional stability, and service life in high-temperature environments.

Surface Finishing Treatments
To handle increasingly complex industrial flue gases and further enhance the performance of aramid filter bags, surface treatment technologies are commonly employed.

Singeing & Calendering
High-temperature flames are used to burn off surface fibers and fuzz, followed by flattening with heated rollers. This results in a smoother filter bag surface, facilitates easier dust release, and effectively prevents fine dust adhesion (blinding).

PTFE Membrane
By laminating a PTFE membrane onto the surface of an aramid substrate, true “surface filtration” is achieved; this not only enables filtration precision finer than 0.5 microns and ensures ultra-low emissions but also significantly reduces energy consumption during the dust-cleaning process.

PTFE Impregnation
The filter material is fully immersed in an emulsion containing PTFE particles, allowing the PTFE to encapsulate every fiber and form a protective layer both internally and on the surface. This provides excellent water, oil, and condensation resistance.

Anti-static Treatment
Conductive fibers are blended into the needle-punched felt to effectively prevent static accumulation and spark generation, thereby enhancing operational safety in flammable or explosive environments.
