BWRO (Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis) membranes are high-performance reverse osmosis membrane elements specifically designed for the treatment of brackish water, saline groundwater, and low-salinity industrial wastewater. They offer high salt rejection, high permeate flow, low operating pressure, and reliable long-term performance. These membranes effectively remove dissolved salts, heavy metals, organic contaminants, bacteria, viruses, and other impurities, providing high-quality purified water for industrial, municipal, and commercial applications.
Description
Filmedia® BWRO membranes are manufactured using advanced polyamide composite membrane technology. Featuring a dense and uniform membrane layer, they offer excellent fouling resistance and chemical stability. High desalination efficiency is achieved at lower operating pressures, effectively reducing system energy consumption and operating costs, while ensuring long-term stable permeate performance and extending the service life of the membrane elements.

- High salt rejection, with stable rejection up to 99.6%.
- High permeate flow to meet a wide range of water treatment requirements.
- Low operating pressure for reduced energy consumption and operating costs.
- Effectively removes dissolved salts, heavy metals, organic compounds, bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants.
- Excellent anti-fouling performance, reducing membrane fouling and extending cleaning intervals.
- Wide pH tolerance for efficient chemical cleaning and easy maintenance.
- Stable long-term performance with extended service life and low maintenance costs.
- Suitable for high-recovery RO systems, improving overall system efficiency.

Working Principle
Under natural conditions, water molecules in a dilute solution spontaneously pass through a semi-permeable membrane into the concentrated solution. In contrast, reverse osmosis employs an external high-pressure pump to apply pressure exceeding the natural osmotic pressure of the brackish water, thereby forcing water molecules to move against the natural direction of osmosis—from the concentrated solution side to the dilute solution side.
Typical Applications
- Brackish groundwater desalination.
- Industrial purified water and ultrapure water production.
- Boiler feed water treatment.
- Food and beverage processing.
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Electronics and semiconductor industries.
- Municipal water supply.
- Industrial wastewater reuse and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) pretreatment.
