Filter Bag Caps

Bag caps are small but critical components used at the top of filter bags in a Reverse Air Baghouse dust collection system. Their main job is simple, but very important: they help secure the filter bag, distribute cleaning force evenly, and improve dust-cleaning efficiency during reverse airflow cleaning. In a reverse air system, cleaning happens by reversing airflow through the bags instead of using high-pressure pulses. Without a proper cap design, the airflow and mechanical stress can concentrate at one point, which can cause uneven cleaning, bag deformation, or even premature bag failure.

Operating Principle

• Tensioning & Suspension

Fixed to the top of the filter bag, the bag cap connects to the upper support beams of the baghouse through hooks and tensioning spring assemblies. This provides the necessary vertical tension for ultra-long bags, preventing them from sagging, twisting, or rubbing against each other.

• Top Sealing

The bag cap completely seals the upper end of the filter bag, ensuring all particulate matter is forced through the filter media and preventing any dust bypass or leakage from the top.

• Cleaning Synergy

During the reverse-air cleaning cycle, a gentle reverse airflow presses the bag from the outside inward. The bag cap, working in tandem with the bottom tensioning system, allows the bag to collapse slightly and shake off accumulated dust cake without undergoing violent, damaging movement.
