P84 Needle-Punched Felt for Dust Collection Filter Bags
Continuous operating temperature up to 240–260°C, with short-term temperature resistance up to 280°C.
Excellent resistance to acidic gases, good tolerance to alkaline media, and strong resistance to oxidation and hydrolysis.
Irregular fiber cross-section provides a larger filtration surface area for superior fine particle collection.
Surface filtration minimizes dust penetration, resulting in lower operating resistance and energy consumption.
Dust accumulates primarily on the filter surface, allowing efficient pulse-jet cleaning and easy dust cake removal.
Typically exceeds 3 years under high-temperature and corrosive conditions, and may reach 4 years under favorable operating conditions.
Approximately 3% moisture absorption at 65% relative humidity, ensuring good dimensional stability.
Description

P84 (polyimide) needle-punched felt is a high-performance, high-temperature resistant filtration material. Common Post-Treatment Processes
To adapt to different operating conditions and extend filter bag service life, P84 needle felt is often subjected to various chemical and physical surface treatments.
☑ Singeing & Calendering
Removes surface fuzz and loose fibers, creating a smoother and more compact filter surface. This improves dust cake formation and enhances dust release during pulse cleaning.
☑ PTFE Impregnation
PTFE emulsion is impregnated or coated onto the P84 fiber surface. This treatment enhances resistance to moisture, oil, and condensation, while also helping reduce hydrolytic degradation of P84 fibers in humid operating conditions.
☑ PTFE Membrane Lamination
A microporous PTFE membrane is laminated onto the surface of the P84 felt to achieve true surface filtration. This prevents dust particles from penetrating into the filter media, resulting in ultra-high filtration efficiency, near-zero emissions, and excellent dust cake release during cleaning cycles.
☑ Blended Filter Media
P84 fibers can also be blended with other high-performance fibers—such as PTFE, aramid/Nomex®, glass fiber, and PPS/Ryton®—to produce composite filter media tailored to specific operating conditions.

Application Industries
Due to its excellent filtration performance, dust collection filter bags made of P84 needle-punched felt are widely used in ultra-low emission applications subject to strict emission standards.
