PPS woven filter cloth is an industrial filtration fabric made from Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS, commercial name: Ryton®) fibers. It is manufactured by weaving PPS multifilament or monofilament yarns into plain weave, twill weave, or satin weave structures using advanced weaving technology. Unlike the mainstream PPS needle felt (nonwoven filter media) available on the market, PPS woven filter fabric features a woven structure, providing excellent high-temperature resistance, chemical stability, mechanical strength, and dimensional stability for demanding industrial filtration applications.
Description
☑ Excellent High-Temperature Stability
Based on the advanced polymer structure of PPS fibers, PPS woven filter fabric delivers outstanding thermal stability and long-term heat resistance. It can operate continuously and reliably in high-temperature environments ranging from approximately 160–190°C, making it ideal for filtration of high-temperature flue gases, hot slurries, and other extreme industrial media. With a melting point of up to 285°C, PPS fibers maintain their molecular structure under elevated temperatures without decomposition, softening, melting, or deformation. Its thermal stability significantly exceeds that of conventional synthetic filter fabrics such as polyester (PET) and polypropylene (PP).
☑ High Tensile Strength
PPS fibers provide excellent warp and weft tensile strength, ensuring superior mechanical performance in both directions. The dense molecular structure and strong intermolecular bonding of virgin PPS fibers, combined with precision weaving technology, significantly enhance the overall load-bearing capacity of the filter fabric. The woven structure effectively prevents fiber breakage, delamination, tearing, and structural damage during continuous operation under demanding filtration conditions.
☑ Excellent Abrasion Resistance
PPS fibers inherently possess outstanding resistance to friction, abrasion, and particle erosion. Combined with the compact woven surface structure, PPS woven filter fabric features a smooth and tightly constructed surface with minimal loose fibers. It provides exceptional resistance against abrasive particles and continuous mechanical wear, outperforming conventional nonwoven filter media in harsh operating environments.
☑ Excellent Dimensional Stability
PPS woven filter fabric undergoes professional high-temperature heat-setting treatment to effectively eliminate internal stress generated during the weaving process. The fiber structure is stabilized and permanently shaped, resulting in extremely low shrinkage, deformation, and relaxation under high-temperature, high-humidity, and thermal cycling conditions. The thermal shrinkage rate is strictly controlled within 1.5%, ensuring reliable filtration performance and extended service life.
☑ Superior Folding and Flex Fatigue Resistance
With the excellent toughness and flexibility of PPS fibers, combined with a three-dimensional interwoven structure, PPS woven filter fabric demonstrates outstanding resistance to repeated bending, folding, and mechanical deformation. It can withstand tens of thousands of bending and flexing cycles without hardening, embrittlement, cracking, tearing, or fiber shedding. Even after repeated folding, the fabric structure remains intact, flexible, and durable.
