Home » Liquid Filter Cartridges
In high-end chemical industries, production processes demand extremely high levels of fluid purity. Even trace amounts of particles or chemical extractables can cause irreversible damage to product quality. As a core component of precision filtration systems, high-purity PTFE pleated filter cartridges play a vital role in critical processes across numerous industries, thanks to their exceptional material properties and filtration performance.
The filter cartridge is assembled using thermal welding technology to join the membrane, support layers, and end components without the use of adhesives. This helps eliminate potential adhesive extractables and associated contamination risks. The welded construction also provides reliable sealing performance, helping minimize the risk of bypass leakage and meeting the stringent cleanliness and reliability requirements of high-purity filtration systems.
Description

Core Advantages of High-Purity PTFE Microporous filter membrane
PTFE offers excellent chemical stability and corrosion resistance, making it highly resistant to a wide range of strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic solvents. It is well suited for complex and demanding chemical processing environments. When exposed to corrosive media, the filter membrane maintains stable filtration performance and structural integrity.
The filter cartridge uses a microporous membrane manufactured from high-purity PTFE materials, providing extremely low levels of extractables and leachables. During the filtration of high-purity chemicals, ultrapure water, and other critical process fluids, it helps minimize the introduction of ions, organic compounds, and other potential contaminants, helping maintain the original chemical purity of the fluid.
The microporous membrane features a precision pleated structure that provides a large effective filtration area within a compact cartridge. This design delivers a combination of high filtration efficiency and excellent flow performance. The uniform pore structure enables consistent particle retention and provides reliable precision filtration protection for downstream processes.

Hydrophilic PTFE vs. Hydrophobic PTFE
Pleated PTFE membrane filter cartridges are mainly classified into hydrophilic PTFE membrane filter cartridges and hydrophobic PTFE membrane filter cartridges according to the surface properties of the membrane material.
01. Hydrophilic PTFE Pleated Filter Cartridges
Made from hydrophilically modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) microporous membranes. In addition to PTFE’s excellent chemical stability and corrosion resistance, the hydrophilic membrane surface allows aqueous liquids to quickly wet the membrane pores.
02. Hydrophobic PTFE Pleated Filter Cartridges
Made from hydrophobic PTFE microporous membranes. Their naturally water-repellent properties make them particularly suitable for gas and air filtration. They effectively prevent liquid water and droplets from entering the membrane while maintaining excellent gas flow performance.

Semiconductor & Flat Panel Display Manufacturing
High-purity PTFE pleated filter cartridges are widely used for the final precision filtration of critical electronic chemicals, including photoresists, etchants, CMP slurries, and ultrapure chemical reagents. They help ensure that fluids entering wafer processing areas meet stringent requirements for zero particle and zero metal-ion contamination, directly contributing to chip yield and device performance. PTFE filter cartridges are also used for the final treatment of purified and ultrapure water, effectively removing dust, particles, and other contaminants to ensure stable operation of production equipment.

Pharmaceutical & Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
These filter cartridges are primarily used in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, where they provide precision clarification of highly corrosive solvents and reaction fluids. They are also used for the sterile purification of process gases, such as the removal of microorganisms and oil aerosols from fermentation air. Their naturally hydrophobic properties enable efficient particle and droplet retention in humid gas environments, while their resistance to repeated high-temperature steam sterilization makes them suitable for demanding aseptic manufacturing processes.

Fine Chemical Processing
PTFE pleated filter cartridges are an ideal solution for filtering highly corrosive process fluids. Whether handling strong acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid, high-concentration alkaline solutions, various organic solvents, or high-temperature process fluids, these cartridges provide reliable and stable filtration performance over extended periods. They effectively remove particulate contaminants from liquids while protecting critical downstream equipment.
