The string wound filter cartridge is a type of depth filtration solution, specifically designed for fluids with low viscosity and low impurity concentrations. It is manufactured by precision-winding textile fibers (such as polypropylene or bleached cotton) onto a porous core (polypropylene or stainless steel) using a specialized winding process. Featuring a distinctive “honeycomb” structure that is loose on the outside and dense on the inside, this cartridge delivers exceptional depth filtration performance. It effectively removes suspended solids, fine particles, rust, and other contaminants from the fluid.
Description
Working Principle
Through the triple synergistic effect of “interception, adsorption, and deposition,” this process achieves highly efficient, stable, and long-lasting fine water purification.
01. Three-Dimensional Interception
The multi-layered pores intercept suspended particles of varying sizes progressively, from the outer surface to the inner core.
02. Fiber Adsorption
Specially engineered fibers on the channel walls utilize their unique structure to create a “hooking effect,” firmly capturing and locking in micro-particles to prevent bypass.
03. Inertial Deposition
As the liquid flows through the intricate network of channels, particles continuously undergo inertial collisions with the channel walls and gradually deposit within.

Our string wound filter cartridges offer a high-quality, cost-effective solution for a wide range of industrial applications.
Uses a unique ‘loose outside, tight inside’ honeycomb structure. The outer layer has larger pores to catch bigger particles, while the inner layer has smaller pores to trap fine particles. This structure gives it an extremely high dirt holding capacity, and it lasts much longer than ordinary surface filters.
The yarn is tightly wound around a central support core. Even when system pressures fluctuate or the pressure difference is high, the mesh won’t deform, and there’s no risk of filter media shedding or channel penetration.
Made from 100% pure polypropylene (PP) yarn mechanically wound without any resin glue or surfactants, so it won’t contaminate the filtered liquid. Safe for drinking water, food and beverage, and high-purity chemical filtration.
Compared to pleated filters, wound filters are cheaper and perfect for use as pre-filters to protect expensive fine filtration equipment downstream.
