PTFE Membrane Laminated Fiberglass Needle Felt Filter Bags

Fiberglass needle felt PTFE membrane filter bags are high-performance filtration products specifically designed for high-temperature flue gas dust collection applications. They are manufactured using fiberglass needle felt as the base material, with a PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) microporous membrane laminated onto the filter media surface through a high-temperature, high-pressure bonding process. This advanced membrane technology significantly enhances the overall performance of the filter bag, providing superior filtration efficiency, easier dust release, lower operating resistance, and extended service life.

Base Fabric Material – Fiberglass Needle Felt

Fiberglass needle-punched felt is a high-performance filtration material with a well-engineered structure. It not only possesses the advantages of fiberglass fabrics—such as high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, dimensional stability, minimal elongation and shrinkage, and high strength—but also features a felt layer composed of individual fibers arranged in a three-dimensional microporous structure with high porosity. Compared to other high-temperature synthetic fiber felt filter bags, it offers distinct advantages such as lower cost and superior temperature resistance, although its operating resistance is higher than that of standard high-temperature synthetic fiber filter materials.

PTFE Membrane Lamination for High-Efficiency Dust Filtration

Shifts from traditional “depth filtration” to “surface filtration.” The microporous membrane blocks virtually all dust; capture efficiency reaches 100% for dust particles larger than 5μm and 99.5% for ultrafine particles smaller than 1μm. Overall filtration precision reaches as fine as 0.3μm, enabling near-zero emissions.

The PTFE membrane surface is extremely smooth with a very low coefficient of friction. Dust cannot penetrate the filter media but instead accumulates on the surface. Actual operating pressure drop is typically below 800 Pa.

Protected by the highly chemically stable PTFE membrane, the base material is shielded from direct erosion by acidic or alkaline gases. With proper use and maintenance, the average service life exceeds 2–5 years—and can even surpass 7 years under optimal operating conditions—significantly reducing the frequency of filter bag replacements and associated downtime costs.

The microporous membrane effectively blocks the penetration of moisture and oil. Combined with the inherent corrosion resistance of the fiberglass substrate, the filter bag maintains stable performance even in complex, harsh environments characterized by high temperatures, high humidity, and high corrosivity.
